About the Militaires
The Long Eaton Militaires Carnival Band have been entertaining the public since 1971. With their colourful uniforms and modern, upbeat musical arrangments, they have become well known both nationally and internationally, as well as having performed in front of royalty.
Their biggest success in the last 40 years has been our twinning with the Voll Freud German Band, and as a result, have become well known in the Essen, Koln and Dusseldorf area of Germany, performing with groups from Holland, Bulgaria, Turkey and France. History of the Long Eaton Militaires
The Long Eaton Militaires were formed in 1971 with the intention of performing for the pleasure of the public, with their precision marching and lively music. They have for the last 35 years achieved their aim; they have performed in front of the Queen Mother and TV celebrities as well as performing in Germany, and the North, South, East and West of England.
Although the band has never won the league, it has become known as the most colourful and entertaining - the proof is how quickly the band gets booked each year. The biggest success in the last 35 years has been our twinning with the "Voell Freud 29" German band, and as a result we have become well known in the Essen, Koln and Dusseldorf area of Germany, performing with groups from Holland, Bulgaria, Turkey and France.
