The Long Eaton Militaires

The Long Eaton Militaires has been linked with The GroBe Karnevalsgesellschaft Voll Freud 1929 e.V. (Large Carnival Society Voll Freud) for 25 years. Every year there is an exchange between the two bands, either the Militaires go to Essen, Germany and perform in the annual carnival , or the Voll Freud travel to Long Eaton, where they perform in local carnivals.

Since meeting the Voell Freud for the first time in 1981, we have continued to keep in touch and our friendship has strengthened. For 25 years we have been visiting each other and every time it is a celebration when we meet and play music together. When our different languages hinder communication we overcome this since music has no barriers. As a result of our private get-togethers many friendships have blossomed. Both bands still have members from the very first visit.
